...talk about it in The Hague
There is a saying that goes something like this: you earn your money in Rotterdam, you spend it Amsterdam and you talk about in The Hague. Having lived in all three cities, there is some truth in it. My first adult job was in Rotterdam, I did like to shop in Amsterdam (I sometimes still do) and born and bred in The Hague, I talk for a living. Coincidence?
'Hague Jantje' is pointing to the Binnenhof, the center of Dutch politics., although the buildings are currently under renovation, and parliament had to find alternative accommodation a little further down the road. Rumour has it, it is mostly talk across the Hofvijver pond, but out of earshot Jantje cannot be sure.
Like any Hague resident, I love this little statue (more of which can be read about here: https://www.haagschjantje.nl/jantje/). For me Jantje is pointing to new horizons, talk materializing into new adventures; a new adventure like Hague Handbags. What better place to introduce this practical, multipurpose pannier-cum-totebag-cum-rucksack Jantje is proudly posing with for a moment?
